Job Title: Powder Coating Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Powder Coating Technician to join our team. This position is available for one opening, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 40-48 hours per week. Overtime is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces by removing rust, dirt, grease, or other contaminants using methods such as hand tools or chemical cleaning.
• Use handheld spray guns to apply powder coating materials evenly to ensure complete coverage and adherence to specifications.
• Place coated items in a curing oven to melt the powder and form a hard, protective layer.
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring that the coating meets quality standards and client specifications.
• Regularly clean and maintain powder coating equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of coating processes, including job specifications and quality control data.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in powder coating techniques and equipment operation.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and handling of chemicals.
• Ability to perform targeted and detailed work to maintain the quality of the finished product.
• Previous experience as a powder coater.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of painting and spray gun operation.
• Experience with assembly, production, and industrial painting.
• Ability to use hand tools and measurement equipment.

This role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing facility specializing in producing custom electrical substations for a variety of industries. The environment is industrious and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
