Data Centre Engineer - Field

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA

We are seeking a Data Center Engineer to join a global telecom and data infrastructure provider. This hands-on, field-based role supports new data center builds, performs installations, and responds to maintenance needs to ensure reliable network operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fiber and copper cable pulling, dressing, labeling, and securing
• Fiber cable termination using Fusion Splicer, including Ribbon Splicing
• Rack and stack, metalwork, and basket system installations
• First-line maintenance and infrastructure diagnostics
• On-site installation and commissioning for both project and maintenance work
• Respond to support tickets within service level agreements
• Electrical connectivity up to 48v DC and 240v AC (no live power work)
• Conduct OTDR and Ethernet/OSA testing and diagnostics
• Experience with equipment such as Ciena, Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, and Huawei
• Perform risk assessments, method statements, and adhere to HSE compliance
• Participate in the on-call support rotation as required

What We Are Looking For

• Hands-on experience building telecom infrastructure based on plans
• Fiber splicing, testing, and structured cabling skills
• Working knowledge of IP and optical transmission systems
• Strong troubleshooting and commissioning abilities
• Capable of working independently and meeting service-level expectations
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; Visio experience is required
• A valid U.S. driver’s license
