Position Overview: Associate Advisor

As an  Associate Advisor , you’ll work closely with the Managing Partner and our advisory team to support financial planning, client service, and business development. This is a client-facing, detail-intensive role with a strong career path to becoming a Lead Advisor.

We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, is highly organized, and has a passion for helping others. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a firm that is expanding our client reach across the Lowcountry from our Charleston office.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Investment Support

  • Participate in client meetings; summarize action items and ensure timely follow-up
  • Collect, review, and input client financial data
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies
  • Prepare planning documents, investment reports, and insurance proposals
  • Maintain planning software and documentation, including assessment and feedback on financial plans to ensure client alignment with their objectives

Operations & Account Management

  • Open and maintain investment and insurance accounts
  • Process account transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and changes
  • Communicate with custodians, broker-dealers, and other vendor partners
  • Maintain CRM records and ensure compliance with workflows

Client Service & Experience

  • Schedule and prepare for client meetings
  • Respond promptly to client service requests
  • Help coordinate firm events and client education sessions
  • Maintain high service standards that foster client trust and loyalty

Business Development

  • Contact prospects to schedule introductory appointments
  • Support outreach and event planning
  • Maintain relationships with strategic partners and centers of influence

Administrative & Team Support

  • Maintain client files and assist with internal documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements and team efficiency
  • Be a Valued Team Player, providing backup coverage for other members as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (REQUIRED)
  • Life, Accident & Health License (REQUIRED)
  • SIE and holding Series 7, 65 (REQUIRED)
  • CFP® is STRONGLY Preferred (or Willing to obtain designation is a must)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that translate into the ability to interpret and present complex financial planning concepts
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • Tech-savvy; CRM and planning software experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to make decisions
  • Proficiency in financial planning software, including eMoney and understanding of financial strategies to support an affluent clientele
