Web Applications Developer Intern – Job Overview:

Applied Concepts has an exciting opportunity at our Richardson R&D facility, where you will be contributing to our custom-built ERP system. You will work with a team of experts to maintain and enhance our applications. You will take applications from planning and architecture development to production hand-off and continuous improvement activities. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work directly with users.

We offer flexible schedules for our interns; in order to qualify for this position, you must be able to work at least 20 hours per week onsite and may be able to work up to 39 hours per week (usually negotiable in advance).

The compensation for this role is $25/hr. and comes with paid holidays along with additional paid time off.

Web Applications Developer Intern – How You'll Make an Impact:

• Provide technical knowledge to the project team while ensuring high level objectives and milestones are met. Coordinate with other team-members to complete technical tasks.
• Work directly with users to understand business requirements
• Stay aware of emerging technologies, techniques, and methodologies to support an inventive environment.
• Develop prototypes for proof of concepts.

Web Applications Developer Intern – What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Basic understanding of HTML & CSS , including building simple responsive pages (coursework or personal projects are great)
• Familiarity with JavaScript fundamentals (variables, functions, DOM, events)
• Exposure to at least one modern framework such as React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte (okay if only through tutorials or a small project)
• Willingness to learn how to work in a command line terminal (Linux)
• Some experience working with JSON data and making simple fetch / API calls
• Curiosity about how apps talk to other systems (APIs, backend services, etc.)
• A growth mindset - comfortable asking questions, trying, and iterating

We will be particularly interested if you have:

• Experience with Bootstrap, Tailwind, or another CSS framework
• Exposure to Git/GitHub
• Basic knowledge of Node.js or any backend framework
• Familiarity with browser dev tools
