\n\nMed/Surg RN Job Details\n

• Location: Elkhart, IN 46514 (Indiana healthcare jobs)\n
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)\n
• Healthcare Setting: Medical Surgical Unit (MSU)\n
• Nursing Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00), plus two level-loading shifts every 6 weeks\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770 - $1820\n
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n
• Holiday Requirement: One holiday per contract\n
• Floating: Occasional floating to Level 3 departments or affiliate hospitals\n
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 – 1:6\n
• Charting System: Cerner\n
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state; pending accepted, must be active by start date)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (18 months required if no prior travel nursing experience)\n
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required\n
• Preferred: ACLS, CPI, ONC, PALS certifications\n
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred\n
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates)\n
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)\n
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start online modules\n

\n\nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Medical Surgical Unit\n
• Manage a patient load of 5-6, including post-surgical, general medical, and trauma cases\n
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform patient assessments\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, and more)\n
• Float to other Level 3 departments or affiliate hospitals as needed\n
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner\n
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as required\n
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to attendance policies\n
