Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 Special Education Teacher with expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) and Sign Language Interpreting is sought for a contract position servicing telehealth sessions. This role is based in Vanderwagen, NM, supporting students in a virtual special education environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized educational instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs through telehealth platforms.
• Facilitate communication between students, educators, and families using American Sign Language to ensure accessibility.
• Provide skilled sign language interpreting services for classroom instruction and related educational activities.
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet individualized goals.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter and Teacher of American Sign Language.
• Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting.
• Familiarity with telehealth delivery methods and remote educational tools.
• Strong communication skills and cultural competence with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
• Certification or licensure relevant to special education teaching and ASL interpreting.
