Title: Shipper/Receiver

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr

Location: Gardena, CA

Shift: First Shift

The purpose of this job is to ensure the seamless processing of outgoing shipments and incoming items. Main duties for this job include supporting shipping and receiving tasks, maintaining the facility, providing general up-keep of operations area, and stocking supplies and maintaining warehouse inventory. Additional job duties include, but are not limited to;

• Maintaining trucks, performing maintenance and repair, and ensuring all required documentation is in the truck
• Processing all required paperwork and maintaining adequate records for reporting and tracking
• Maintaining filing of shipping documents
• Preparing and scheduling shipments, as assigned, including creating daily shipment schedules
• Scheduling daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers
• Overseeing the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries
• Tracking shipments and verifying receipts of shipments, as required
• Managing the inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Creating purchase requisitions and obtaining approval prior to placing supply orders
• Sorting and distributing incoming shipments
• Performing quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off
• Reporting discrepancies to immediate supervisor, as needed
• Ensuring that shipments contain proper documentation and, if shipments are comprised of multiple items, ensuring that item lists are complete
• Providing problem solving for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and/or deliveries
• Maintaining an organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle, as assigned
• Maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility
• Operating a Zamboni machine, as needed
• Performing other duties, as assigned, while following current standards and procedures

Position Qualifications:

• Prior shipping/receiving / general warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to operate a 5-ton truck, including a valid Driver’s License, with no major violations
• Ability to operate a forklift; forklift certified desired, or ability to acquire one upon extension of a job offer
• Physical fitness and ability to grip/grasp/lift/carry up to 30 pounds (reaching below the waist as well as between the shoulder and waist), pinch/pull/push (with exertion up to 51 pounds of force), walk/stand/rubber-band/squat, and extend/flex wrists; a visual acuity of 20/40 or better, up to 20”, required
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to write and manage documentation
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

This job may require you to operate a 5-ton truck; a MVR background check will be conducted upon extension of a job offer
