Maintenance Manager

Manage the maintenance/repair activities for the 7 day per week, multi-shift operations of SDS by providing leadership to establish best practices that maximize customer service levels through operational up-time and minimize operational and capital costs through effective preventative maintenance practices.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize technical expertise to assign, schedule, plan, and supervise all maintenance and repair activities for distribution and manufacturing equipment, facilities, and grounds; provide guidance to maintenance personnel on effective troubleshooting methods that limit production downtime.
• Define measurable, individual performance goals; monitor and communicate via regular feedback and annual performance reviews.
• Provide coaching and developmental opportunities for all direct reports.
• Coordinate, plan and supervise the installation of equipment, procurement of utilities, and movement/relocation of equipment and structures.
• Monitor the Maintenance and Capital budgets.
• Perform frequent follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime issues and to perform preventive maintenance (PM) review. Evaluate current methods to develop new ways of improving product quality while boosting efficiency, safety and cost efficiency of the operation.
• Schedule and coordinate all equipment PM task and applicable cycles (weekly, monthly, semi-annual, etc.) Operate computer maintenance management system for asset tracking, parts inventory, and labor costing. Update PM database and equipment libraries as equipment is modified, removed, and installed.
• Order machinery, equipment, and parts to maintain spare and repair parts stock and to ensure cost effective execution of maintenance projects and repairs.
• Ensure departmental compliance with policies and procedures including external regulatory requirements set by OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, HACCP, AIB and the like.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Technical / Trade training / Sheetz training required.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' combined experience in maintenance, electrical, bulk handling, packaging, refrigeration, welding, metal working, and/or safety areas using computerized maintenance management and preventative maintenance systems required.
• Minimum 2 years experience supervising others required.
• Previous food manufacturing, (Bakery and USDA) experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• None required.

Tools & Equipment:

• Hand tools (hammer, measuring devices, wrench, level, etc.)
• Power Hand tools (saws, drill press, grinders, sanders, etc.)
• Pneumatic tools (compressor, nailer, stapler, jack hammer, etc.)
• Welding tools (torch, plasma cutter, welder, etc.)
• Motorized Equipment (generators, pressure washer, fork lift, etc.)
• Heavy Equipment: (Loader and attachments, lift, etc.)
