At Rebel Convenience Stores , we fuel more than just cars—we fuel trust, safety, and accountability. We’re looking for a Risk & Claims Investigator to join our Loss Prevention/Claims Department at our corporate office in Upland, CA .
In this role, you’ll be the front line of protection, investigating liability, property damage, and carwash-related claims across our convenience store and fuel station network. If you have an investigative mindset and thrive on uncovering facts, assessing risk, and driving fair resolutions—you’ll feel right at home here.
What You’ll Do
Lead thorough investigations into:
General liability claims (slip/trip/falls, customer injuries)
Property damage incidents (customer or vendor-caused damage)
Carwash incidents (vehicle damage claims)
Collect and evaluate evidence, including surveillance footage, interviews, and reports .
Prepare detailed investigative reports to support claims evaluation and litigation.
Spot red flags: identify fraud indicators, negligence, or liability exposure .
Collaborate with the General Liability Claims Manager , attorneys, carriers, TPAs, and store staff.
Keep meticulous records in the claims system.
Assist with claimant communication and follow-up to support resolution.
What You Bring
2+ years of investigative experience (law enforcement, private investigation, insurance claims, loss prevention, or risk management).
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to uncover root causes.
Professional communication skills for interacting with claimants, employees, and legal partners.
Excellent written and verbal reporting skills .
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with surveillance video systems (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player.
