Job Description
The Borough of Tenafly is seeking an accomplished and highly skilled Public Works Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated team.
This pivotal role demands a professional with extensive experience, exceptional technical proficiency, and a commitment to operational excellence in a dynamic municipal environment. They will provide comprehensive clerical support to the Department of Public Works, ensuring efficient processing of documents, effective communication, and superior customer service.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrating experience in handling multiple tasks and diverse responsibilities, along with strong project management tracking abilities. Effective communication, adept problem-solving skills and the ability to positively interact with the public on a daily basis are essential.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5+ years** of senior-level clerical or administrative experience, preferably within municipal government or public works. Proven mastery of Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) with an ability to develop complex spreadsheets and reports. Experience managing electronic and manual record-keeping systems, knowledge of Edmunds Financial Accounting System is preferred. Demonstrates the ability to handle high-volume workloads with precision and professionalism. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
