THIS POSITION IS FOR SPRING 2026 Flexible, up to 15 hours per week; not to conflict with your class schedule. You will only work when students schedule appointments with you.
Completion of online orientation is REQUIRED before starting. Tutors will earn a raise to $10.75 after completion of Level 1 training. Contact Robin Theobald (carstensr@nku.edu) with questions.
Job Description
Tutor NKU students, both in-person and online, in course content and skills for courses in which the tutor earned an "A" grade; maintain accurate records.

Tutor NKU students who request assistance in improving their skills, knowledge, or understanding of specific courses; maintain accurate records. [PLUS Tutors do NOT tutor writing or English composition courses; Writing Center consultants do this work.]
Maintain adequate progress with training and development. Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Acquire signed faculty recommendation form and attach as "Letter of Recommendation" to this application. No separate letter of recommendation is required. Form can be found at:
* 30 or more semester credit hours earned, including transfer/early admit work
* Grade of "A" or "A-" in course(s) tutored
* Enrollment in 6 or more semester credit hours during time of employment;
* Maintain GPA of 3.25 or higher
All new student workers must be able to come to campus to complete new hire paperwork.
Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
