Shift: Monday - Friday, Days with some variation by location

The role you'll contribute:

The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results
• Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures
• May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty
• May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs Safety/Whole care
• Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required
• Is responsible for maintaining OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience
• Active American Heart Association BLS
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA or
• American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) or
• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or
• American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT NCCT or
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

Preferred qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
