Medical Assistant Apprentice at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Medical Assistant Apprentice supports licensed practitioners by performing both administrative and clinical duties to assist in basic patient care. This role involves completing an apprenticeship program, complying with healthcare policies, and gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Description

The MA Apprentice works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner or Certified MA to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA Apprentice is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Enrollment in the Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program within 60 days of hire.
  • *When 50% of required competencies are completed (as indicated with check off by CMA mentor) MA Apprentice will receive 1st increase in pay.
  • *When MA Apprenticeship Program is successfully completed MA Apprentice will receive 2nd increase in pay.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months Medical assistant experience.
  • 6 months Healthcare experience in a setting with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • 6 months Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
