About the Role
Droneforge is seeking a founding Mechatronics Engineer to lead the development of our electromechanical systems that bring our autonomous drone platform to life. You will play a central role in designing, integrating, and validating critical subsystems, from actuation and control to sensor integration and flight readiness.
Responsibilities
• Design and prototype mechanical subsystems such as our main product line Nimbus, and additional components like gimbals, landing mechanisms, and payload interfaces
• Develop and tune real-time control algorithms for actuators and motion systems
• Integrate sensors, motors, and controllers with embedded hardware
• Build dynamic models to support system optimization and control design
• Support field testing, system validation, and design iteration in close collaboration with hardware and autonomy teams

Qualifications
• 3–8 years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, or aerospace systems
• Strong background in mechanical design, controls, and sensor-actuator integration
• Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink)
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and system-level testing
• Prior experience in aerial robotics or autonomous platforms is a strong plus
