We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Legal Assistant to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, handling a heavy case load and contributing to the successful resolution of legal matters. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in legal documentation, legal writing, and legal document review. They will also be adept at coordinating with insurance adjusters, drafting routine motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
1. Managing a heavy case load, ensuring all cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
2. Preparing, reviewing, and filing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures.
3. Drafting routine motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.
4. Coordinating with insurance adjusters to settle claims and disputes.
5. Preparing and compiling specials for insurance carriers.
6. Requesting clients’ itemized bills and medical records as necessary.
7. Assisting in the administration of plaintiff’s personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.
8. Providing bilingual support in Spanish and, preferably, Polish.
9. Performing other legal administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in legal documentation, legal writing, and legal document review.
3. Experience coordinating with insurance adjusters and handling plaintiff’s personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Polish language proficiency is preferred.
5. The ability to manage a heavy case load, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
9. A degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
