Position Overview :
Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Field Deployment Technician in our SW Washington area. This position is
responsible for troubleshooting, administration, installation, and maintenance of the company’s and customer’s
access infrastructure equipment, particularly in our wireless and towers division.
The primary position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
Our ideal candidate will possess :
Required to work at heights installing telecom equipment/materials on towers, monopoles, etc. including
mounts, radios and antennas – ideally, 1+ years of tower climbing experience.
Competent Tower Climber and Rescue per ANSI/ASSE Z490.1-2009 & ANSI/ASSE Z359.2-2017 (will
certify)
RF awareness preferred (will certify)
Rigging experience preferred
Basic to Intermediate experience is required in the following areas:
o Physical, data-link and network protocols and architectures
o Routers
o Firewalls and switches
o System load balancing and redundant system architecture.
Able to set up and or design simple to complex network involving wireless equipment, Cisco switches
and routers.
Demonstrates ability to diagnose and solve problems.
Exhibits the ability to follow direction and possesses the ability to follow through.
Must enjoy the challenge of technical concepts and communicate those concepts at varying levels.
Basic experience with LAN and WAN Technology
Ability to comply with all Company implemented safety procedures
Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision
Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills
Basic knowledge of DC components and best practices
Basic understanding of the physical network layer, CAT 5e/6, 66 blocks, 110 blocks, patch panels, fiber
optic cables, etc.

Base Salary: The base salary range in Washington for this position is $23.00/hr - $30.00/hr, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.
