Our mission is to fight displacement and build collective power in our community to shape our own destiny. Our vision is to be a multicultural community where low and moderate income residents and locally-owned businesses can thrive. EC3 Business Organizer: The East Colfax Community Collective Business organizer will be responsible for helping small businesses on the East Colfax corridor both in the Denver and Aurora side to help fight displacement through advocacy and navigation. The organizer will be assisting small businesses with navigation support, run free small business legal clinics and develop small business leadership skills. The business organizers identify and recruit local businesses to join EC3’s membership. As a full time Business Organizer your core responsibilities are as follows: Commitment to Anti-Oppression and Equal Access All EC3 staff are expected to receive foundational and ongoing anti-oppression training. Staff must be ready to advocate for equity and access in all policy and community spaces in which EC3 operates. Technical Assistance Workshops Identify Workshop topics and find speakers Promote workshops with small businesses Plan & Implement Logistics for workshops Business Navigation Assistance Locate and help apply grants and loan for small businesses Help Business navigate through permitting and licensing Help communicate to landlords Navigate safety concerns General Marketing support for businesses Navigation support will be for Denver and Aurora businesses Navigation support is done with the goal of building EC3’s membership base and growing EC3’s collective power Small Business Membership / Base-Building Identify New small businesses that would like to be part of EC3 Small Business membership. Build strong relationships with business owners with the ability to foster trust and community through your daily work. Connect with small businesses to other EC3 departments and identify areas for individuals to get involved. Strengthen EC3 Small Business Steering Committee and support Steering Committee members in growing their roles and leadership. Activate Steering Committee members to turnout broader business membership to quarterly membership meetings. Steering Committee Support small businesses in steering committees Work with City and other partners to find solutions Plan and implement steering committee meetings Recruit small business leader to be part of steering committee Support EC3 Small Business Legal Clinic Help outreach to Small Business to attend legal clinic Support logistics day of legal clinic Support International Market Support in planning logistics Find vendors to participate in the international market Support East Colfax Small Business Emergency Relief Fund (ECSBRF) Help fundraise for more funds for ECSBRF Promote ECSBRF Support Small Business Safety Recruit small business leader to be part of safety steering committee Attend some safety meetings and report back to business collective members on safety campaign Support Small Businesses to document safety concerns EC3 Team Support Provide strategic support and recommendations during bi-monthly EC3 staff meetings. If applicable, provide interpretation and translation for fellow teammates upon request. Perform other duties as assigned to support team activities, mobilizations, and convenings. SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Starting salary of $59,000 up to $62,000 depending on years of experience. You will be paid through direct deposit twice a month. New employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance. EC3 will contribute 95% toward the cost of the employee-only medical premium. EC3 will contribute 50% of the employee-only Dental and Vision insurance premiums and 100% of the Life insurance premium. Each month you will accrue 13.3 hours of vacation time you can use in coordination with prior approval from your supervisor for a total of 160 Hours of PTO in year one

  • 1000 per year prorated upon hire HRA(Health Reimbursement Agreement) Card to help to cover medical expenses
Yearly funds for professional development and capacity building. Prior approval from your supervisor is required. Working Conditions: Work is performed about half in an office setting and requires sitting for extended periods, and half out in the community traveling. As such, it may include walking, standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling. Work also includes manual dexterity for typing/operating computer, holding, grasping, and turning objects. Work also requires the ability to speak and use unaided or aided vision or hearing.
