Auto Mechanic with Engine and Transmission Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair engine and transmission issues on a wide range of vehicles.
• Perform complete engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and replacements as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, brakes, suspension, and tune-ups.
• Prepare vehicles for resale through reconditioning and quality checks.
• Perform safety inspections and document repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify complex mechanical problems.
• Collaborate with the service manager to prioritize repair orders and ensure timely completion.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and overall performance.
• Maintain organized workspaces and proper tool usage.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on engines and transmissions (used car dealership experience preferred).
• ASE certifications, especially in Engine Repair and Automatic/Manual Transmissions, are a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in typical shop conditions.
