A leading Active Brand, located in the garment district of NYC is looking for an Associate Designer for Women’s Activewear.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Lead Designer on developing product each season
- Research and identify trend directions
- Shop market for trend and inspiration and interpret for the target market
- Working through all stages of product development from proto through final production sample
- Creating and updating CADs along with techpack detail sheets for both development and production stages
- Collaborating between Design, TD and Production department
- Communication with licensed teams through approval process
- Manage all deadlines within Development/Production Calendar
- Assist sample tracking
- Attend fittings and update tech packs as needed
- Maintain design libraries and filing systems
- Manage Hangtag and Packaging requests to update artwork for production orders
- Create packaging ideas for special projects, giftables, 2-packs, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years professional experience preferably in Activewear
- Strong illustrator flat sketching skills
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Well versed in Adobe Illustrator in a MAC environment
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills; team oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot and problem solve
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround and deadlines
- Ability to prioritize workload based on design calendar
- Position is based in NYO
