BASIC OBJECTIVES This is a professional position for a certified art teacher responsible for instructing elementary and secondary students in visual arts content, art production skills, and the cultural significance of visual arts. Job Tasks/Responsibilities Prepare lesson objectives and outlines following district curriculum guidelines. Lecture, demonstrate, select appropriate materials, and use visual and audio-visual aids to present subject matter. Maintain a portfolio of student artwork, administer assessments, record results, and report to parents. Assign lessons, assess student progress, and maintain attendance and grades. Participate in exhibitions and contests at various levels. Attend faculty meetings and inservice training. Perform related work as assigned. Provide opportunities for students to visit museums, galleries, and artist studios. Physical Requirements This medium work involves activities like climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and more. The work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hazards and atmospheric conditions. Minimum Qualification Requirements As specified in the State Statutes.
