RPI Management, Inc., Housing Agent for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), is seeking an Affordable Housing Support Specialist to assist with the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher, Project-Based, and HUD-VASH programs we manage.

Job Description:

The Affordable Housing Support Specialist plays an important role in supporting participants through the annual and interim recertification process. This position gathers, verifies, and processes information required by MSHDA and HUD to ensure continued program eligibility. Additional responsibilities include verifying household composition, income, assets, and expenses for both annual recertifications and interim changes. The support specialist calculates annual income, determines rent portions in accordance with MSHDA and HUD guidelines, and provides assistance to residents throughout the process.

This role combines strong attention to detail with a genuine commitment to helping participants maintain stable, affordable housing.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Professional communication skills (oral and written)
• Basic computer proficiency (typing, email, internet searches, data entry)
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
• Positive attitude and desire to learn
• Prior affordable housing experience preferred, but not required.

Additional Details:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; further education preferred

Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
