Job Summary

This position is an essential part of a constructive and collaborative recruitment team that shares the responsibility of meeting the Universitys strategic enrollment goals and enrolling students that align with Augusta Universitys strategic plan. The role focuses on increasing enrollment in undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates in the College of Education, prioritizing low?enrollment programs based on annual data and advising prospective students on admissions, financial aid, academic programs, campus visitation, and housing.

Responsibilities


  • Recruitment Operations (on and off campus) : Plan, execute, and assess all recruitment operations necessary to meet recruitment and enrollment goals. Travel to high schools and community colleges; attend college fairs, nights, receptions, and regional programs to recruit prospective students.
  • Outreach and Network Building : Conduct extensive outreach and relationship building with prospective students and families via in?person communication, phone, email, written correspondence, and social media. Develop and strengthen ties with high school counselors, independent counselors, community college counselors, alumni, and other key influencers. Coordinate the COEHD Ambassadors activities and collaborate with campus and state constituents.
  • Reporting : Submit program management reports of recruitment and prospective student activity to the Dean and COEHD Leadership Team throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Student Support : Welcome prospective students by providing guidance and coaching during the application process; arrange campus tours; conduct follow?up activities such as letter writing, phone?calling, and texting campaigns.
  • Knowledge Building : Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
  • Other Duties : Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in student counseling, communications, education, business, public relations, marketing, or another related field, with experience in a university setting.
  • Valid Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in K?12 education, college recruitment, counseling, sales, marketing, public relations, communications, or education.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge : Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Skills : Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; detail?oriented with strong multi?tasking, oral presentation, record?keeping, problem?solving, and organizational skills.
  • Abilities : Ability to travel and cover travel costs with reimbursement; maintain confidentiality and work independently; work with a wide range of people and commit to all responsibilities; work a varied schedule with flexible hours and reliable transportation.

  • Successful candidates must pass a Background Check prior to starting. A credit check may be required for Positions of Trust or approved departmental Purchase Card usage. Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
