The San Francisco Adult Probation Department (SFAPD) is dedicated to supporting justice-involved adults through personalized services that empower them to permanently exit the criminal justice system. As a second-level management position within the department, the Division Director, Adult Probation, plays a critical role in overseeing the administrative planning and coordination of divisional operations.
Under general direction of Senior Leadership, the APD Division Director is responsible for organizing, planning and directing the activities of a major division of the Adult Probation Department. Key responsibilities include:
These minimum qualifications are to be used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification.
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, psychology, criminology, or a related field.
Five (5) years of professional experience as a probation officer or community corrections officer in the federal, state or county system.
A valid California Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
The starting salary range for this position is $131,924 and $168,454, with higher appointments considered for exceptional qualifications or recruitment needs. Employees also receive competitive benefits, including:
